Zoo 2 You Visit!

Orange class had a fantastic afternoon with a variety of animals at their Zoo 2 You visit. We learnt about how animals are classified and looked at the characteristics of mammals, reptiles and birds. We will be building on this learning in the coming weeks. A full range of photographs are available on the VLE.


Animal bones!

Today in Science, Year One have been learning about how to classify animals. We have learnt the new vocabulary vertebrates and invertebrates. We can now name some animals which have a backbone and some which don’t. We made different animals out of bones. Can you guess which animals we have made?


Andy Goldsworthy

Today, Orange Class had a cross-curricular outdoor learning challenge. We were inspired by the Maths patterns created in nature and found an artist who embraces this in his art work. Health Awareness Day

Last Friday the whole school was involved in a Health awareness day which highlighted different ways in which we can stay healthy. Road Safety

Year One have been learning all about road safety with our local PCSO’s. James and Natalie came to visit our class and taught us how to cross the road safely. We now know how to find a safe place to cross, that we need to hold an adult’s hand, stand back from the road, use our eyes and ears to check it is safe

Roald Dahl Day

Orange Class had a phizz-whizzing Roald Dahl day! We made some gloriumptious Wonka lolly pops, some snappy Enormous Crocodile puppets, and our own whoopsy wiffling dream catchers. On Friday, we dressed up as our favourite Roald Dahl character.
