Eco-council have done a fantastic job organising events for the Oxfam Water Week. All week the children have been bringing loose change in to try and fill a water bottle. KS2 Sports day!

Yesterday, Monday 3rd July, St. Mary’s held their annual KS2 sports day afternoon. All parents were invited to watch the children complete a number of activities testing both individually and within teams including, sprint races, javelin, long jump, obstacle races, relay, egg and spoon, sack races and target games. Edale 2017

Indigo had a fabulous time at Edale last week! They had a very busy three days which consisted of abseiling, weaselling, canoeing, night hikes, orienteering and problem solving games. Fun with Poetry!

What an exciting day we have had at St. Mary’s with a visit from poet Matt Goodfellow. The day began with a performance in the hall for KS2 children, followed by a performance for KS1 children. Air Raid Shelters

Year 5 had a fantastic day at the air raid shelters and Staircase House. We learnt so much about rationing, make do and mend, air raid precautions and the air raid shelters themselves. Indigo’s behaviour throughout was superb and they had some very interesting questions to ask. We hope you enjoy looking at our pictures.


Year 5 take control of the Garden

Indigo class have had a very hard working and productive morning getting to grips with the school garden. We started with a tour to see what was growing  and then we made a few plans of what we wanted to achieve. Police Museum

This morning we went to the Police Museum, which fitted in perfectly with our Stockport throughout the time topic. We learnt all about the different weapons, machines, uniforms and tools which officers have used throughout the years. Last Friday the whole school was involved in a Health awareness day which highlighted different ways in which we can stay healthy. Anglo Saxon Workshop

Today Indigo were joined by ‘Cynewulf’ (Koona-Wolf), an Anglo Saxon Warrior. We explored different areas of Anglo Saxons in the morning, from how they travelled to Britain, their religion, the artefacts, to the legend of Beowulf.
