The children had a fantastic time at our Sports Day this year. They had six different challenges and activities to complete throughout the morning and worked well in their teams to take part in all of the races.
This morning the street dance and drama after school clubs put on a spectacular show for the whole school and parents too! It was amazing to see how confident even the youngest children were. What a treat it was! Take a look at the photos…
This week we had a very special visit from Z-arts. We were learning all about India and Bollywood dancing. We listened to lots of Indian stories and even acted these out through dance. This week something very exciting happened in our classroom we were invaded by two pirates called Captain Bones and Swashbuckle Sally. They told us they were looking for a crew to join their pirate ship as they had found a piece of a pirate map but needed to travel around the world to find the other pieces so they could find where the treasure

The children really enjoyed exploring our forest school area in the beautiful sunshine today. The children enjoyed making natural sun catchers by collecting lots of flowers and leaves in our outdoor area. We used the magnifying glasses to look closely at the petals and learnt the name of some common flowers such as daisies, dandelions and buttercups.
This week we were invited to take part in a Nursery Rhyme afternoon with other Stockport schools. Each school chose a song to dress up as and to sing. Or song was Baa Baa Black Sheep and the children enjoyed walking around the town hall singing their song. The children joined in with all the nursery rhymes and had a lovely afternoon. IMG_3381
In forest school this week the children were very busy making nature crowns and journey sticks. The children enjoyed exploring and observing the new flowers and plants that have started to grow in our forest school area and we loved exploring blowing the dandelion seeds across the fields.
The children have been working so hard this half term to become wedding planners for our scarecrow friends Harry and Betty. Today the children helped to get all the food, drink and decorations ready for their wedding and as the weather was bad decided to move the wedding ceremony and reception into the classroom. We had such a fantastic day at Smithills Open Farm. We had a very busy day with farmer Steph she showed us around the whole farm, let us feed and stroke the baby animals, have a donkey ride and tractor ride and then watched the cows being milked. The children have been working hard in Red Class to retell the Three Little Pigs story. We used a story map to help us remember the different parts of the story and used actions to help us remember the words. Look at our video below to hear us retell the Three Little Pigs story.
