Staircase House

Safer Internet Day

Today Yellow Class took part in Safer Internet Day. We listened to a story about Zap and Zoom. Zap and Zoom like to play online games, but what should they do when they have to make choices online? How can they stay safe?


Chinese New Year

Today the whole school celebrated Chinese New Year. In Key Stage One and Foundation Stage we had the opportunity to move around the classes completing different craft activities. We had a fabulous afternoon. We found out it is the Year of the Pig for 2019, so we made origami pigs! We did some dragon dancing and also made red envelopes with a treat inside.

Mr Beckingham

We had a special treat today with Mr Beckingham leading assembly. He retold the nativity story, but not in any old way he brought his easel and paint brushes! It is always an assembly we look forward to and remember especially as he leaves his painting for us to look at and admire. Take a look at the photos below.


Christmas Forest School

We had a special Christmas Forest School this week. The children helped to cut wood and collect sticks to make twig stars and little wooden santas. Bedtime stories

This half term we have been following the Read, Write and Perform unit of work based on bedtime stories. It has included listening to and comparing different kinds of bedtime stories. We particularly enjoyed an exciting story about finding a dragon’s egg! We compared this to Peppa Pig’s bedtime story where she told George a story to get him to sleep. Then we ‘magpied’

Enjoying a marshmallow at Forest School

The second group at forest school decided they would like a fire and marshmallows for their treat in the last week. Before that they got up an appetite by making obstacle courses for each other. It took team work, planning and design skills. Everybody enjoyed trying out each others courses. Well done Yellow class!
