This page will be updated regularly to show the progress of the rocket seeds experiment on behalf of the RHS and European Space Agency.

Friday 22nd April
The first seeds have germinated!
Tuesday 26th April
The seeds are growing really well now. Nearly all the seeds have germinated across the two packets.
At the moment, the red seeds appear to be slightly stronger and a bit taller.
Thursday 28th April
We recorded our next set of results today. Year Six worked out the percentage of seeds which have germinated in each replicate (set of 25 seeds). Have a look at the picture of our chart to see the results.
Thursday 5th May
The seeds have started to grow their first ‘real’ leaves and they look just like rocket leaves! All the seeds are looking quite similar still, which ones have been up in space?
Monday 9th May
Today was our first time measuring the seedlings to see how tall they are. We were asked to measure the tallest seedling in each replicate in millimetres. Luckily Year 1, Orange class, are doing all about measuring and were able to take it in turns to measure them as part of a Numeracy lesson.
