Salve from Chester

Blue class spent a fantastic day in Dewa today learning more about Roman Britain and the reasons for the settlement in Chester. Our Roman Centurion took us around Chester and to the Amphitheatre. We learnt lots about the life of a gladiator and what happened at the theatre. Back at the Grosvenor Museum we took part in some excellent hands on workshops. We got to learn about Roman food, mosaics, tiling, dress and the important work of the archaeologist in helping us find out more about life in Roman Britain two thousand years ago. We finished off our day looking around the galleries as History detectives. It has been a wonderful day of learning and Blue class were a credit to St Mary’s.
