St Mary’s Got Talent 2019
Children from across the school took part in our annual St Mary’s Got Talent. This is a time to showcase all the talents children may have including music, dance, magic and performance poetry. The acts are judged by four school council members and are given a score out of 10. Here are some of the acts from this year.
Red Nose day 2019
This year, school council will be selling red noses every day from Monday 11th March – Friday 15th March in school. Noses this year cost £1.25.
School council have also organised a dancathon. On Friday 15th March you will be invited to challenge yourself to dance for half an hour non-stop! To participate we are asking for a donation and a smile! Everyone is welcome to join in.
Keep checking back as we update with pictures and our total raised.
Our dancethon was a huge success, so many children took part and everyone managed to dance for the full 30 minutes! Check out our pictures below!
Worship and Christian values are very important to us at St Mary’s so in December 2018, school council decided to organise a Christingle event in association with the Children’s Society. We had a visit from a Children’s Society representative who held an assembly and taught us all about the Christingle and what each part means. We had collected donations of the different elements from St Mary’s Church and were lucky enough to have an incredible donation of 100 oranges from our local Morrisons. Later that day, children throughout the school who had brought in a donation made a Christingle to take home.
Children in Need 2018!
The school council have been working really hard getting ready for Children in Need 2018. They have planned different events and today have painted a big Pudsey and Blush ready to cover in loose change next week. Great teamwork!
Keep checking back to see further plans.
A big thank you to everyone in school, you have all made such a difference and have raised an incredible amount for Children in Need!
We had lots of spots in school on Friday, a lot of change covering Pudsey and Blush’s faces and numerous wristbands and key rings sold.
Well done everyone!
Introducing our new School Council for 2018-19.
The School Council meet regularly to discuss ways to develop the wider school life at St Marys. This may include running charity events, marking special days in the calendar or finding ways to make school a better place for their peers.
