About Us

Autumn 1 Newsletter

Welcome to Orange class!

We are so excited to welcome you all to Year 1. We have an incredible year of learning ahead of us and we can't wait to work together to support the children in their journey.

We are always available at the door in the morning and after school should you need to speak with us about any matter, however big or small!

Best Wishes,

Mrs O'Mahony-Leach, Mrs Moran and Mrs Rothwell

Homework

Homework will come home on a Monday for completion during the week. It will consist of spellings and maths activities on NumBots. Their login for NumBots is in their reading record.

To best support reading at home, it would be amazing if you could listen to them read their reading book at least four times a week.

1 - to decode and blend

2 - re-read and blend faster for smoother reading

3 - experience success and build confidence

4 - develop meaning, comprehension and long-term memory

We will continue to read every day in school, and we have some wonderful volunteer readers, so please ensure book bags are brought to school each day, with reading books and records.
