School Lunch & Snacks

School lunches are free for all Early Years (Red Class) and Key Stage 1 (Orange and Yellow Classes) children and costs £2.15 per day for all Key Stage 2 children. Payment for meals can be made on a weekly or half termly basis by cheque or cash. The exact money or cheque should be brought to school on a Monday, in an envelope with your child’s name and class on.

The Autumn and Winter lunchtime menu started on 27th September 2021 and it works on a three week rotation. There is something for everyone and we cater for all dietary needs. Please contact the school office if you have any questions or would like to discuss any food allergies your child has.

Alternatively, you may prefer your child to bring a packed lunch which you have prepared at home.If thisisthe case, as we are an enhanced healthy school, we ask that you do not send any lunch items into school that have a ‘red flag’ on them. Please keep them at home for a treat. All uneated food and wrappers will be sent home each day so you can see exactly what your child has chosen to eat.

All lunch time meals are taken in the school hall where everyone eats together.

If you are in receipt of Income Support or think you may be eligible for free school meals, please contact the Council Information Offices, Welfare Benefits Team (Tel. 0161 474 3878) or the school office for advice and an application form.

Apply for free school meals

Children may bring a healthy snack of fruit to school for their mid-morning break. However, you may not think this is necessary if your child is in Red, Orange or Yellow class because all children in KS1 are provided with a daily piece of fruit or vegetable. Milk can also be ordered online and is available daily.

We also strongly recommend that your child brings a water bottle to school with their name on it. This is so they can stay hydrated and have a drink during the day. No flavoured, fizzy or juice drinks – water only please.
