Allergen Information Autumn 2026
Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 Children
The Government introduced in 2014 universal free school meals, meaning that all children in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 are eligible to receive a free school meal. Children can bring a packed lunch if they prefer.
KS2 Children
Children can either bring their own packed lunch to school or purchase a school meal. The cost of a school meal is currently £3.20 per day which can be paid for weekly, half termly or termly in advance via cash or via SchoolMoney.
Free School Meals
From the start of academic year 2026 to 2027, all children in households receiving Universal Credit will be entitled to free school meals, regardless of earnings.
Going forward, there will be two types of eligibility:
- Targeted FSM: for households in receipt of universal credit earning £7,400 or less (includes free meals and additional support such as pupil premium). Other educational entitlements such as the Holiday Activities and Food program (HAF) and the ‘extended rights’ element of school travel assistance, will also continue to be based on targeted FSM.
- Expanded FSM: for households in receipt of universal credit earning above £7,400 (free meals only).
If you don’t want your child to have the school meals then you are still welcome to send them in with a packed lunch – as long as you qualify and are registered, the school will still receive the additional funding.

or school can apply for you on your behalf – we would need you to fill in a form which will ask you for your NI number and DOB.
