Safeguarding

Safeguarding the children at St. Mary's CE Primary is everyone's responsibility, and all staff receive annual training. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Faryniarz, our Headteacher and the Deputy DSL role is shared by Mrs Grant and Mrs Moran, our Deputy Headteachers who have both undertaken DSL training. Our Safeguarding Governor is Colette Hallworth.

We will always welcome you to contact us should you have any worries, concerns or are experiencing challenges in school or at home. Any change in circumstances, no matter how small can influence the children in school. School staff are here to support both you and your child.

All information will of course be treated confidentially unless there is concern over child safety.

Operation Encompass

We have been given the opportunity to take part in a project which will run jointly between school and Greater Manchester Police.

Operation Encompass is reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day when a child or young person has experienced any domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass will ensure that a member of the school staff (Designated Safeguard Lead) known as a key adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the police and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, whilst ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have experienced a domestic abuse incident.

We believe that we must offer the best support possible to all our pupils, and we believe this will be extremely beneficial to all those involved.

Early Help/ Team Around Our School

Our Team Around the School (TAS) is a partnership between St. Mary's Primary School, Stockport Family and other agencies. We'll work together with parents to offer early help and support.

Services involved in the TAS want to support the development of relationships with families to make sure professionals and parent/carers are working together.

Appropriate information will be shared when additional support is needed or requested for children and families (following government guidance on information). Families working with the TAS team will have access to support from:
